Dogs displaying behavior issues such as dog to dog aggression, dog to human aggression, fear, anxiety, separation anxiety, leash reactivity or poor impulse control need more than just obedience training. Our combination of expertise and variety of services can help your dog overcome their behavior issue and live a better quality of life.
A Behavior Consultation is a 2 hour, in depth private session designed to give you the knowledge and tools to understanding your dog’s behavior issue and how to get started on the right track. We will do an assessment of your dog in a variety of contexts and help identify the various factors that are driving the unwanted behaviors. We will assess your dog’s responsiveness to training and identify the areas that need the most help, and go over training exercises specific to your dog’s issues that you can begin applying right away. We will also go over the ongoing training options that best fit your needs.
Day Training programs are similar to a board and train, except your dog remains in the comfort of their own home while participating in a concentrated training program. This is especially important for behavior issues as they tend to occur in and around the dog’s home, and training in those specific environments leads to better long term success.
During the day we come to your home and work one on one with your dog on a custom designed training program. With behavior problems involving other dogs and/or people we bring in assistant trainers and neutral dogs to help your dog learn more desirable behaviors in the presence of those distractions.
We keep you updated on your dog’s progress via pictures and videos during our visits. At the end of every week we work one on one with you with a Coaching Session to show you what your dog is learning and how to get the same results.
The Day Training package that best suits your needs is determined by the completion of a Behavior Consultation.

Separation anxiety is more than just a dog who chews up your shoes when you are away. A dog with separation anxiety goes into a state of panic when you walk out the door, in the same way some people panic if they can’t find their toddler, are claustrophobic, or afraid of heights.
When left alone, dogs with this condition may exhibit behaviors such as drooling, urinating, defecating, vocalizing, pacing, self-mutilation and even destroying exit points such as doors and windows. These dogs don’t “get used” to being alone over time but require specialized training to learn how to relax when you are away. Without treatment, separation anxiety can get worse, so it is important to help your dog at the outset. The good news is that separation anxiety can be treated, and we can help! We take a systematic approach to treatment by breaking down the triggers that cause your dog to panic so that each may be addressed through desensitization. The peace of mind knowing that your dog is relaxing or even sleeping while you are away is invaluable and the sooner you get started the closer you are to being able to leave your dog alone, guilt-free!
