Group Classes

We believe that adolescent dogs (between 5-10 months) need ongoing, off leash socialization to other dogs in a structured setting. This class focuses on proper interactions both on and off leash, along with attention to owners, settling on cue, and impulse control exercises.

Learn how to teach your dog tricks that are sure to impress! Tricks are a fun way to build a better relationship with your dog while teaching them body awareness and increasing confidence. Spin, wave hi, play dead, and leg weaves are just a few of the tricks you’ll come away with. Our Tricks class is suitable for some shy and reactive dogs – in fact we find that they thrive in this environment! If you really want to test you and your dog’s ability, consider aiming for an AKC Trick Title which this class can prepare you for.

Our Drop in Style classes are a popular option for clients looking for ways to expand their dog’s training to other environments and dogs. These are small classes (3-4 dogs) that are offered on a monthly basis, with a variety of topics and locations throughout San Diego. Our most popular classes include:

Group Walk: For dogs who need to improve their behavior around other dogs while on leash. We begin class as a group walk where the dogs have a chance to get accustomed to each other’s presence, and then add in more structured training exercises. An emphasis on attention to you, coming away from other dogs on cue, walk bys, and general calmness.

Obedience Using Platforms: Klimb platforms are a fun tool for building obedience! This class is for owners who want to teach their dog to be more attentive and responsive to them. An emphasis on eye contact, stay, and heel work. Some shy or reactive dogs OK.

Fun and Games:  For dogs and owners who want to have a fun way to engage with each other. This class has a variety of “obstacle" courses along with fun training games and scent detection exercises. Some shy or reactive dogs OK.

Stay and Recall: For dogs who need to build their stay and recall behaviors. An emphasis on building stay with duration, distance, and distractions, and recall away from other dogs/distractions. Some shy or reactive dogs OK.

Poised in Public: For owners who want to bring their dog to dog friendly establishments but would like to improve their dog’s manners in public. An emphasis on attention around distractions, leash skills, and settling on cue. Great for puppies, dogs preparing for Canine Good Citizen, or just to advance your dog’s skill set.

To participate in Drop in Classes you must have participated in a private training consultation or other group class with Synergy Dog Training. This is to ensure you and your dog have the skill set necessary to participate in the classes successfully.

Team Training is a semi private class with 2 teams. Do you have a friend or neighbor who wants to join you in training? Get the benefits of private training for half the cost. We can customize any class to fit your individual needs. Team Training classes are ideal for building basic obedience, leash skills, proper off leash play, or specialty topics such as CGC prep or trick training.

$250 per team for 5 classes.
